Located at 51st Street and Martin Luther King Drive, Policy Kings is a revolutionary, eco-sustainable, mixed-use commercial and residential development, helmed by Chicago black development duo Corey Gilkey and James Daughrity. Policy Kings transforms an entire block into an elevated and exciting, art-forward experience, by combining architectural innovation with environmentalism, cultural elevation, diversity and effortless cool. The project is 17,7220 sq ft, and will include six eco-sustainable apartments, indoor and outdoor dining, a gym/wellness center with a juice bar, Chicago's first sneaker boutique curated for women, Queenz, and a brand new extension of Chicago's favorite local streetwear brand, Leaders 1354. Policy Kings is being birthed by a diverse team of entrepreneurs and innovators including: local architectural firm, Silvestro Design Operations, local black general contractor James Webb of Nation Builders Construction Group, local black, woman owned and operated business development firm the Nascent Group, and local black owned Environmental Strategy firm Sesenergi Eco Solutions Enterprise. Policy King's mission is not only to provide new dining and retail options to a historic community, but to join the movement of black entrepreneurs seeking to revitalize Chicago's South Side neighborhoods through creative collaboration and sustainable, community centered entrepreneurship.

Corey Gilkey

Corey Gilkey is a charismatic and experienced entrepreneurial leader in Chicago. Known for founding the independent retail operations Focusgroup Inc, Leaders1354, LdrSkate, Friistylechi, Leaders of the World, ParaSoul Community Kitchen and Chenille Factory, as well as for being one of the founding creatives behind Boxville, Gilkey is renowned in the community for his dedication to creative entrepreneurship. As a graduate of the respected historically black universiy Southern University, Corey actively works to carry forward the values of community upliftment through the creation of global leadership opportunities, mentorship, artistry and innovation.
An integral part of the Policy Kings Development, the Leaders1354 family Corey founded is built on creativity, an unwavering ability to teach and inspire others, combined with a deep passion for helping individuals to carve their own creative paths. Under Corey's leadership, Leaders1354 has become a huge facet of, and inspiration for, streetwear around the world.
JAMES DaughRITY
Co-Founder
James Daughrity is an experienced entrepreneur, and an avid social impact commercial real estate broker at Daughrity Real Estate & Management Solutions (DRE), L.L.C, a respected firm providing full service brokerage services, encompassing every facet of commercial real estate. His market areas and key projects include properties in South Los Angeles and Chicago.
As a Morehouse College graduate. Daughrity is dedicated to bringing the values of compassion, honesty and integrity to every project he helms, by inspiring a diverse range of burgeoning entrepreneurs and innovators to invest in their futures through real-estate and conscious entrepreneurship. Daughrity works closely with community leaders in Opportunity Zones on the South Side of Chicago. Current DRE projects include several ground-up, mixed-use projects one of which, in particular, is T.R.E.C.C. (Technology Renewable Energy Command Center) in the South Loop Neighborhood. Daughrity's mission is to serve as the partner of choice for those who believe that intelligent, thoughtful real estate developments change communities for the better.
